Christopher Shell was born and raised in Harlem, New York. He graduated from Howard University in 2017 with a B.A. in History. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History at Michigan State University. Christopher’s research interests include the modern Caribbean, immigration and migration, labor history, Black theology, and Black socio-political liberation movements during the twentieth century. When he is not working on his dissertation he enjoys watching baseball, playing chess, and weightlifting.
