Daphne Chamberlain

Dr. Daphne R. Chamberlain is a Mississippi native who completed her undergraduate studies at Tougaloo College and earned her Master’s and Ph.D. in History from the University of Mississippi. She has presented her research on children’s participation in the civil rights movement broadly, been featured on panels and documentaries focused on historical memory and preservation, and facilitated teacher workshops across the nation. She is the founding director of the COFO Civil Rights Education Center at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, and has served on faculty and as a higher education administrator. She is currently Chief Program Officer at the Emmett Till Interpretive Center, located in Sumner, Mississippi.
