Latrice Johnson is a native of Oklahoma City, OK. She obtained her B.A. in English Literature with a minor in Pre-Law from Tougaloo College and her M.A. in English
Literature with a graduate minor in Gender Studies from the University of Mississippi. She is currently pursuing her PhD in English Literature at the University of Mississippi. Her research interests include American Literature, African American Literature, Black Feminist Thought, Gender Studies, Southern Studies, and Film/Media Studies. Latrice’s work primarily examines how Black women negotiate the intersections of race, gender, sexuality or sexual expressivity, and class in the South.
