Adam Thomas teaches social studies at Summit Academy Charter High School in Brooklyn, New York. He received his PhD from University of California, Irvine in 2016 and taught U.S., Caribbean, and Atlantic world history at Ohio State University, Miami University (Ohio), and Western Carolina University. His work has appeared in the Journal of Southern History, Journal of Caribbean History, Journal of Global Slavery, Slavery & Abolition, and Black Perspectives.
